We're in the process of moving our collection of football scouting and game planning
articles and resources to this web site for our visitors' convenience.
By "scouting", we are not referring to what "talent scouts"
do, but rather the process of recording
information about each play in a football game, using coaching-specific
terminology and parameters, and then organizing and categorizing the
results in a variety of ways.
Most often, the goal is to to
determine offensive and defensive tendencies, but other benefits
include calculating the efficiency and effectiveness of offense plays,
defensive play calls, and situation specific aspects of a football game.
